Something I finished in mark that I never got around to updating.

Pan assignment for 2nd Year Layout class with Scott Caple!
One of my favourite classes this year. School emphasizes animation based layouts which naturally means that I went and did something concept-arty instead haha. This layout isn't too practical for animation. :(

Had about 20 layers of painted elements in Photshop and the rest was composted in After Effects.

Composited video is here:

Ha ha, gold! I like how you went against the natural tide of what your teachers want and did your own thing instead :s Was a very interesting pan :0 Structures in rocks = win

I really like the colours you chose. This piece is quite strong despite it not being good for animation as you said. I feel your foreground elements, being closer, should have some extra detail in the rock. Your background elements could be painted over a little with your sky colour to fade it further into the background and create more depth. Really like this, hope to see more! :)

Very well composed. The lighting and warm colors really bring out the charm of the scene.

Thank you, I'm really glad you mentioned "charm", it's something I initially thought of while starting the environment. I'm glad it wasn't completely lost. :)
